A special way to interpret the sights on nature and natural environment by being nature as a human being and furthermore to get engaged in a sensitive manner for a conspiratorial agreement.

Remembering:William Shakespeare There is more thing ´ in heaven and on earths than your book learning dreams itself, Horatio.

The Swiss artist, who lives in Vienna, examines one theme in particular: the human appropriation or usurpation of nature, its cultivation, and the way it is made to serve different human needs, from entertainment to décor. At the same time, Dettwiler is constantly making allusions to our construction of our image of nature, as well as the fact that not only the ways that we shape nature narrow-minded and guided to our own interests, but that our perception of nature is, too. Thus, in referring to the famous Rorschach test – a psychological diagnostic tool used in personality research – the series of works called Schäft ein Lied in allen Dingen also becomes a reference to nature as a screen upon which human desires and fears are projected, as Dettwiler says.

Clara Oppel (born in Haßfurt, Germany) who lives and works as an artist in Graz has studied Painting and Sculpturing ( with Diet Sayler,  Bruno Gironcoli and others). She got her diploma 2001 in Vienna and worked until 2006 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. With her installations she builds the inherent sounds and noises of certain rooms/fields by structured pictures, things, sound paintings in a symbiotic way. The room, in this case, the garden-room is recreated as an ephemeral sound picture: BEYOND THAT.
