Exposition Opening DER SCHNELLE WEG (THE EFFICIENT WAY)

2012-03-24//18:00-20:00

THE EFFICIENT WAY is not only demonstrating the formal way to arrive, it is also the arriving by knowing how to follow the artists eye-movement, to catch in one moment the forms, colours and symbols as medium of the message. Kumi Sugaï, painter and print-maker: born Kobe, Japan 13 March 1919, died Kobe 14 May 1996, was one of the greatest abstract japanese artist after world-war II. Sugai produced compositions with dynamic movement, flat colour fields eliminating traces of brushstrokes, and sign-like forms with a clear outline, rigidly geometric, repeating patterns of circles, rectangles and stripes in a unique sense of rationalism and cool sensibility. In a similar consistently straight and direct way works Anna Gerlitz-Ottitsch (http://www.gerlitz.at/), born Graz, Austria 17 October 1967, working with geometrical symbolic forms and colors, exploring rooms and spaces.
